**Make sure your child READS TO YOU the books that we send home each night. It's ok for YOU TO READ TO YOUR CHILD, but just NOT the books we send home. Also, when you can, ask your child questions about what they read. WHO were the characters? WHAT was the setting? HOW did the characters feel in the beginning? middle? end? WHY do you think.....? Can they RETELL the story in their own words?
